Preface

Hello everyone! As an organization enthusiast, I absolutely love the feeling of having everything perfectly arranged! While many people find organizing troublesome, the method I'm sharing today will definitely make you fall in love with it. Whether you're a working professional living in a rental or newlyweds who just moved into a new home, this method will help you easily manage household clutter and create a fresh, comfortable living space.

Time Management

To be honest, whenever I see my home in disarray, I feel very anxious too. But! I discovered an incredibly effective method - the "scheduled organization method". It really doesn't take much time - just 15 minutes before bed each day is enough.

Think about it - don't you spend more than 15 minutes scrolling through TikTok? If you use this time to tidy up your room, that adds up to 450 minutes per month, which is exactly 7.5 hours! With this much time, you can accomplish so much. For example, last month I used this method to thoroughly organize my wardrobe that had been cluttered for half a year.

I now schedule by area. For instance, Monday is dedicated to organizing the bedside table, tidying up the books, hand creams, hair ties and such; Tuesday is for the desk, sorting documents and organizing computer cables; Wednesday is wardrobe day, refolding and organizing clothes by season and type. By dividing tasks this way, the daily workload isn't too heavy, but the results are very noticeable.

Sometimes when work is particularly busy, I just want to lie down and scroll through my phone when I get home. But I tell myself: "Just 15 minutes, it'll be over quickly!" Once I actually start organizing, I often find I can't stop because watching things become orderly is just too satisfying!

Preparation

Before starting to organize, don't rush to stuff things into cabinets. I used to do that, but within a week, everything would be messy again. Now I always start with the place where results are most noticeable, like the computer desk. Since I use this area every day, I can immediately feel the difference when it's organized.

I remember the first time I did a systematic organization, I excitedly bought a bunch of storage boxes and started putting things in them. Halfway through, I realized these items were covered in thick dust and had to be taken out and wiped clean. Since then, I've learned: always do a deep clean before organizing!

Now my process is like this: first completely empty the area to be organized, clean all surfaces, floors, tables, and drawers. Then take a large garbage bag and throw away obviously unwanted items. Prepare several storage boxes labeled "keep", "to process" and "donate". This makes classification much clearer.

By the way, it's best to prepare these tools before organizing: cleaning cloths, cleaner, storage boxes, labels, tape, scissors. I also like to play my favorite music while organizing - it makes time pass quickly.

Space Planning

When it comes to space utilization, it's truly a profound subject! My kitchen is a great example. Previously, my kitchen counter was cluttered with all sorts of cookware. Later, I bought a multi-tier stainless steel storage rack on Taobao and hung all frequently used utensils on it. Now when cooking, I can easily reach the tools I need, and the counter is clear, making food preparation much more convenient.

I highly recommend multi-functional storage furniture. For instance, my recently replaced bed has four large drawers underneath for storing quilts and seasonal clothing. The coffee table can be lifted up to store remote controls, charging cables, delivery boxes, etc. I also recently bought a sofa with storage function - the space underneath is like a small warehouse, perfect for winter quilts and summer umbrellas.

The bedroom walls are also key for utilization. I installed a row of hooks on the wall specifically for bags and hats. The headboard has a storage cushion, which is very convenient for reading before bed. On the windowsill, I placed a compartmentalized storage box that can hold both small potted plants and miscellaneous items.
